Mentoring Monday: How writing an essay could win classroom set of The Wall Street Journal

Here’s a competition that Journalism Education Association mentees may be interested in – with the winner receiving a classroom set of The Wall Street Journal.

Linda Shockley, Dow Jones News Fund deputy director, sends this information:

For the fourth consecutive year, media teachers can compete to win a year’s classroom subscription to The Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition.

Teachers are asked to email up to 250 words explaining why they need the newspaper for their media classroom to djnf@dowjones.com with “Classroom Edition” in the subject line by Sept. 17.

Entries should include school name, postal mailing address and a phone number with area code. Subscriptions for the most persuasive essayists start in October.

Winners receive:
- 30 copies of The Wall Street Journal Classroom Edition
- Unlimited use of classroomedition.com
- Full subscription access to The Wall Street Journal Online for the teacher
